I took a 5 day vacation earlier this month with my family, thinking that I wouldn't miss much activity on the Fairfield County real estate scene. It was as if I fell asleep and woke up 3 months later. The Westport CT real estate market was suddenly very busy! My listings that had been getting 1 or 2 showings over the past month were now getting 1 or 2 showings daily! The great news, is that this was not just me, but our entire real estate office! Offers were coming in, showings were up, and most importantly, deals were being made! All my buyers were back!
Over the past 2 years, I've had a lot of clients end up renting a house in Weston, Westport or Fairfield, with the main reason being to "see what happens" in the housing market. Many of these clients are now 2 years into renting, seeing mortgage rates at historical lows, wondering, "Why wait any longer." It's a great time to buy a house!
